PUPIL WELLBEING

 

ASPIRE - LEARN - FLOURISH 

The Aspire Learning Federation is made up of two schools - Elm Park Primary School and R J Mitchell Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.

 

Positive wellbeing is promoted through the curriculum and other school activities. Through a carefully planned approach to PSHE, our pupils acquire the knowledge and develop the skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and become resilient, informed and responsible citizens.Curricular and 

 

Extra-curricular Support

We support the mental health and wellbeing of all pupils through:

  • building strong relationships centred around mutual respect 
  • a school ethos which empowers respect
  • clear rules, routines and expectations 
  • enhanced provision e.g. our sensory room
  • targeted pastoral and learning support
  • circle time, social stories and ‘bubble boxes’
  • trained mental health first aiders
  • having twoEmotional Learning Support Assistants [ELSAs]
  • employing a school counsellor
  • working closely with the Havering Emotional Support Team
  • having an established Home School Support Worker

 

Parental Support

If you are concerned about your child’s mental wellbeing, please contact the class teacher in the first instance then speak with the SENCo or Home School Support Worker.  Parents are invited to attend our SEND coffee mornings held each half term.
