Dear parents & carers of Reception children,
To promote independence, we will be encouraging Reception pupils to walk down from the pedestrian gate by themselves when we return from the Easter break. There will be Reception staff on hand to support children to walk into class independently. You can support us by preparing your child for this change and encouraging them to separate from you at the gate. As always, if individual children need separate provisions and plans, we will accommodate this as required but we hope this will not be necessary.
Reception pupils will also join the rest of the school on the field at lunchtime for their play. They will be supervised by the Reception staff and midday assistants as usual and our peer mentors will be on hand to help.
